Notched, upturned petals like tiny pinwheels are intensely violet purple. The whimsical starry flowers will spin their bold shot of color for 4-5 weeks. Light repeat blooming can occur later in the season.

Resembling Creeping Phlox but blooming a week earlier and with larger notched flowers that blanket a slightly mounded profile. Phlox Violet Pinwheels was developed by Dr. Jim Ault from the Chicago Botanic Garden.
