DIANTHUS: A wonderful plant found in many heirloom gardens, Dianthus have been a favorite of gardeners for generations. Easy to grow and wonderfully colored, it is no wonder to find them a part of so many gardens. 'King of the Blacks' Carnation. Dianthus caryophyllus. Reddish Purple flowers become more popular each day. They do combine dramatically to make unusually beautiful cut flower arrangements. The strong stemmed plants are bushy and grow to 20 , bearing lots of medium size, rich darkest purple, well scented blooms. Hardy in zones 5-10. Elsewhere grow as an annual. Grows in clayish soil.     I noticed that all the sowing directions are the same for all the different seeds!! I did alot of research and found correct directions for each species. Also light and moisture, some needing stratification!! Took alot of time. As all gardeners I'm anxious to get the greenhouse opened up and start planting for spring.. Quik Ship.. Thanks
