Product Description

CLEMATIS: Always called the "Queen of Vines," nothing else makes the spectacular show of a clematis in full bloom. In almost all zones, these magnificent plants decorate mailboxes, trellises and porches with cascades of some of the most beautiful blooms in the flower kingdom, and they're not difficult to grow. There's no reason you can't add them to your landscape. Clematis Tie Dye Origin: Hybrid origin. Clematis 'Tie Dye' is a new breakthrough in clematis coloring! This clematis is similar to the popular 'Jackmanii', but the 6" flowers have dark blue petals with lavender-white centers that streak out to the edges in silver. Blooms from June through July. 'Tie Dye' is very unusual and appropriately named!

    Buyers beware

Posted by Sasha on Apr 29th 2021

The clematis was improperly packaged and arrived broken at the base and covered in dirt. I notified the vendor same day by email and sent detailed photos with a description. He responded with a request to send additional photos once the plant was cleaned up and re-potted. Odd request - but I complied. There were 4 plants total in the order - 2 were badly damaged. I asked for a refund or replacement on the 2 damaged ones - no response received. I’ve purchased from many nurseries before, and this has been the worst experience thus far. I’m never going to order from Hirts again. Also, shipping was the highest I’ve seen, so it’s amazing that other small, family-owned nurseries manage to ship plants for less and everything has arrived undamaged and healthy.

    Hard trim

Clematis was cut back to about 4 inches in length which seemed drastic but it now appears to be sending out new growth. Let's hope that continues.
