Product Description

CLEMATIS: Always called the "Queen of Vines," nothing else makes the spectacular show of a clematis in full bloom. In almost all zones, these magnificent plants decorate mailboxes, trellises and porches with cascades of some of the most beautiful blooms in the flower kingdom, and they're not difficult to grow. There's no reason you can't add them to your landscape. Clematis Jackmanii. Large flowered climber blooming in mid and late summer bears abundant single, velvety dark purple flowers 3-4 inch across with greenish brown anthers. Height 10 ft spread 3 ft. This is the most popular Clematis vine in the world and one of the easiest to grow. There is an old saying with Clematis; "Tops in the sun and feet in the shade." In other words the vine blooms best in the sun and benefits from a cluster of small plants, planted around the base of the plant. Many people simply plant a ground cover like ivy, myrtle, or pachysandra around the plant to shade the base. The Jackmanii Clematis does best in fertile, humus rich, well-drained soil. Mulch well with composted manure or compost. Feed once a month with a well balanced fertilizer during the growing season.

    Clematis

Posted by MT on Apr 1st 2022

This is a late review. I got itchy fingers and decided to plant them mid June in south Texas last year. As expected they arrived small, but healthy. I was a little worried that it's too hot to plant anything at this point, but they survived. Not only that, I got blooms in early/mid September. I didn't expect any since clematis can take a few years to get established. The color was fantastic, bright royal purple. I trimmed them as per group3 recommendations in early March, and they have exploded by putting on 2-4" a day.

    Jackmani Clematis Vine

When the plants arrived, the packaging was great so that the plants were well protected during shipping and the shipment arrived in a short time. Hopefully they will grow great the rest of summer and produce lots of flowers next year.
