Product Description

SEDUM: An excellent rock-hardy plant! Flowering late spring and summer. They enjoy full sun, but some shade is OK. A reliable, hardy and easy to grow perennial, Sedums provide color and interest to your garden from spring to the first snow of winter. Vibrant Red-edged Leaves 3 Seasons a Year! Part of the SunSparkler™ series of vibrant ground cover Sedum. Chris Hansen has done it again! The gorgeous SunSparkler™ series of drought-resistant, quick-spreading, ultra-colorful Sedum welcomes its newest member -- a red picotee standout! 'Lime Zinger' sports succulent leaves of bright lime green edged in cherry red and topped for several weeks by flop-resistant pink blooms. There's no better coverage for hot, dry garden spots! 'Lime Zinger' is just 6 inches high, but quickly fills in up to 18 inches wide. The foliage is small, upright, and rounded, its red variegation outlining each leaf perfectly. Deer tend to leave this plant alone, but once the pink blooms appear in late summer, the butterflies pay close attention. You will enjoy these flowers, but it's hard to miss them when they pass in mid-fall and the stunning foliage is revealed again! Like all the SunSparklers™, 'Lime Zinger' stands up to cold as well as heat, and once established it doesn't mind poor soil fertility and long periods of drought. It's ideal for containers that don't get watered as often as you'd like, and there's no better solution for hard-to-plant banks, slopes, and dusty garden spots receiving full sunshine. Given good drainage and some pampering the first season to get established, there's no stopping the SunSparklers™! Take a look at the others in this series: long-blooming 'Dazzleberry' and bright red-leafed 'Cherry Tart.' Zones 4-9.
