Mayan Gold Heliconia 10 Seeds-Heliconia champneana

The Heliconias resemble the plant know commonly as Bird-of-Paradise and are sometimes called False Bird-of-Pardise Plants. They bloom abundantly all year. The flowers appear to be hand painted and glow with brilliant colors. Heliconias are popular house plants, and are very easy to grow indoors or out. Long upright bracts of orange to bright red. Large, upright banana-like leaves have a maroon mid rib. Matures at 10 - 12 ft'.

Propagation: rhizomes and seeds.
Culture: sun / light shade.
Protects from frost; damage below 40° F.
Needs lot of water but the soil should be well drained, rich and moist soil is needed as well, high humidity.
Plant in frost free spots or areas; can also be planted in the greenhouse.
