Product Description

The Hardy Arctic Kiwi is THE FRUIT OF THE FUTURE. Fruits are now being marketed and sold in produce stores. It has been accepted in the marketplace and the demand will be growing in the very near future for the small delicious fruits. Shipped dormant in winter, early spring and late fall. The Hardy Kiwi, are native to the mountains and hills of southwestern China where they grow wild in trees and on bushes. The Hardy Kiwi was introduced to the United Kingdom, Europe, United States, and New Zealand between 1900 to 1910 from China. Commercial plantings were made in New Zealand about 1930 and have become widespread over the last 20-30 years. These plants have been tested in New Hampshire and upper New York State where they survived 25 degrees F below zero temperatures! Kiwi plants are attractive growers that require a sunny location, preferably with wind protection. They can be grown in different types of soils; however, the soil must be well drained. The vines take very little maintenance-just pruning and support to hold about 100 lbs. of fruit for a mature plant. Plant 10 to 20 ft. apart. They are hardy in zones 4-9. Kiwi plants are very pretty when used to cover a wall or fence or used in landscape design. The fruit is very high in Vitamin C and its use in recipes is endless. The hardy Kiwis ripen in mid to late September. Two Hardy Kiwi Plants are necessary to get fruit, a male and female. Female Plant: Actinidia arguta 'Anna' (Ananasnaya). An outstandingly reliable bearer of relatively large fruit. The fruit is very sweet. A nurseryman from Tennessee, reports that in 1996 his large vine of 'Anna' bore over 200 lbs. of fruit. Imported into the U.S. from Belgium. Male Plant: Actinidia arguta 'Meader'. Use as a pollinator for female selections. A beautiful vine on it's own! Measurements are approximate

Plant Care
How will my plant arrive & do I need to repot?

We ship our plants via USPS, so check your mailbox if it is a smaller item.

To ensure your plant stays healthy and happy, we ship it in its original nursery pot—just as it was growing in our greenhouse. There’s no need to repot right away.

We recommend letting your plant acclimate to its new environment after the journey. Give it a few days in a cozy spot with the right light and water, and let it settle in before making any changes. This helps reduce transplant shock and gives your plant the best start in its new home!

Will my plant look like the pictures online?

Yes! The photos with the white background are actual images of the plants we grow and ship.

Keep in mind:

  • If you’re ordering a plant in a 2.5" pot, it’s a starter plant. That means it will be smaller in size and will need time to establish roots and grow before reaching maturity.
  • All plants are healthy and ready to thrive with a little time and care!
Is my plant in stock?

To see if a specific plant is available, head to our website and use the search bar (look for the magnifying glass in the top right corner).

Type the name of the plant you’re looking for.

Click on the product listing to view the details.

If the plant shows up in the search, it’s available! Under “Currently Available,” you’ll see exactly how many we have in stock.

If the plant doesn’t appear, it’s currently out of stock.

We receive new shipments regularly, so feel free to check back often—your favorite plant might be back sooner than you think!

Why does my perennial look sad?

If you received a perennial during the winter months, it may arrive looking brown, bare, or even lifeless. That’s completely normal—it’s simply dormant, not dead. Many perennials go into a natural resting phase during colder months to conserve energy for the growing season ahead.

What should you do?

Keep the plant in a cool, dry place with some light.

Water lightly every 3 weeks—just enough to keep the soil from completely drying out. Avoid soggy soil or overwatering.

Once warmer weather returns, gradually introduce the plant to sunlight and plant it outdoors after the last chance of frost has passed.

Your plant may look quiet now, but with a little patience, it will bounce back beautifully in spring!

You’ll see the exact shipping price before you finalize your purchase—no surprises!

Support & Returns
Can I add to my existing order?

Unfortunately, we’re not able to add items to an order once it’s placed because we don’t keep credit card info for your security.

If you’d like to combine orders, you can:

  • Cancel your original order and place a new one with everything you want, or
  • Place a second order and contact us as soon as possible.

If time allows, we’ll do our best to ship both orders together in one box to save on shipping costs. Just call us at 330-239-0506 or email greenhousematt@gmail.com with both order numbers.

My plant isn't looking too hot, what do I do?

We stand behind the quality of our plants and want you to be happy!

It’s normal for live plants to show some stress after shipping. We recommend pruning off any damaged foliage to help your plant focus its energy on fresh, healthy growth.

If your plant’s condition is worse than minor shipping stress, please email us at greenhousematt@gmail.com with a photo and your order number. We’ll be happy to replace or refund your purchase.

I need to cancel my order. What should I do?

No problem! Please email us at greenhousematt@gmail.com and include your order number in the message. We’ll be happy to help you with the cancellation process.

The sooner you reach out, the better—especially if your order hasn’t shipped yet!

Do you offer garden design help?

While we’re happy to share advice and gardening tips, we don’t offer formal garden design services.

If time allows, we’ll gladly suggest plants that work well in your conditions. However, due to the high volume of emails, we can’t provide personalized design consultations for every request.

    Good for price!

Posted by Ross on Jan 29th 2025

Best price on the web! Just keep in mind that they are in 2.5 inch pots, so these plants are small (few inches tall in my case). However - the root systems were healthy on arrival, and I’m convinced these kiwis will grow vigorously in short time. Not disappointed! Thank you!

    three living plants, one dead

Posted by Laura H Nix on Jan 28th 2021

I pulled the plants out of the box and three look great with plump limbs and good color. The fourth (a female plant) however, is shriveled, black and a large limb snapped off in transit. I would like a replacement. Do I return the dead plant to you?
