Product Description

The most striking feature of the Ponytail Palm is the swollen base of the trunk. The texture of the trunk looks and feels scaly like the foot of an elephant and is also known as Elephants Foot. The extraordinary thickening of the trunk serves as a water reservoir against dry spells, allowing the tree to go up to four (4) weeks without water and causing no ill effects. Excellent in low or higher lighting conditions. The Ponytail is an excellent choice for home, office or anywhere. Very easy indoor maintenance.

    Well, the plant was smaller than I expected, but I'm terrible at dimensions. The delivery came very quickly and she (he?) is in robust health. Overall, I am very happy. She is my 89th plant, so she has lots of companionship!

    Ordered by mail for the first time a few ago and this is part of my second order from Hirt's. Fantastic variety of beautiful starter and small plants. Great pricing and excellent quality. I will be a returning customer! Wish I could add some pictures for other customers to visualize and share ideas. My ponytail palm like all of my plants so far was thoughtfully packed and is stunning.
