Goat's Beard creates a bold display when used in a woodland garden or shade border or when used as specimens or accent plants when used as a small shrub. It has dense deep green intricately divided leaves and numerous flowers in full arching plumes of creamy white blossoms resembling astilbes. Plant in humus rich soil and light to medium shade or keep well watered if planted in full sun.
Goatsbeard grows to 5' tall. It has an informal appearance and works well at the edge of a wooded area or as a large background plant in a perennial border.
Hardy in zones 4-9.
