They succeed best in sun or part-shade with winter protection over the fleshy roots. Lily of the Nile are also ideal for growing in tubs and other deep containers. They are hardy in zones 7-10. In cooler regions, the Lily of the Nile makes an excellent patio plant and can be brought inside as a house plant during the winter. They are so hardy, they thrive on neglect!
