Hirt's Gardens is pleased to offer this Boost soil blend from Tilth Soil, a Cleveland, Ohio company established in 2018. The key ingredient in all Tilth Soil products is compost made from local food scraps diverted from landfills collected by Rust Belt Riders. Tilth Soil is produced in accordance with the National Organic Program (NOP) to create the healthiest soils. Putting your "Garden to Bed" means getting your garden ready for winter, and ultimately, spring! This Garden to Bed kit contains one bag of our Boost amendment mix and a bag of cover crop seeds. The Boost should be applied to add nutrients that have been depleted during the growing season. The cover crops should be applied before the first frost to provide your soil with nutrients, protect from erosion, increase moisture, reduce soil compaction, and more. 1 kit covers up to 100 square feet of garden space. Ingredients: NOP-compliant screened compost amended with kelp meal, blood meal, and bone meal. Organic "winter-kill" cover crop seed blend: oats, peas, barley, tillage radish, and vetch. You will receive one 5 pound bag, (0.3 cubic feet). Weight will range from 5-8 pounds based on moisture content.
