Plants arrived very healthy. One plant already had a tomato and all 3 had flowers. Instructions for hardening off the plants were provided. Shipping was costly but worth it to receive plants in such fine condition.

Sungold produces a huge yield of orange skinned, golf ball sized fruits. Each fruit has a sweet juicy taste, with low acidity, as you would expect from its parentage. Long trusses with masses of hybrid quality fruit, ideal for a complete season's picking.
TOMATO: Tomatoes are rich in vitamins and antioxidants, and the seeds are high in fiber. The green parts are mildly poisonous, which is not surprising, as tomatoes are closely related to both nightshade and tobacco. The tomato was originally believed to be poisonous when introduced into Europe, and was used solely as an ornamental plant during the 16th and 17th centuries. The first traces of its use as a food date back to the first half of the 18th century. Tomatoes are now a tasty ingredient in many dishes, and are used fresh, canned, stewed or even sun-dried.

Sungold tomato seedlings
I could not find Sungold seedlings so ordered 2 plants from Hirt‘s. Price was great. I was a little worried about shipping plants but other people had good experiences, so I went ahead. The two plants arrived wrapped in bubble wrap and the soil was intact. But the plants clearly experienced trauma since many leaves were brown and dead and other leaves were withered and damaged. Two stars since the plants are alive and hopefully they will pull through, but I will likely not order plants for shipping in the future from Hirt‘s.

Sungold tomatoes
These are the best tomatoes you've ever had in your life. They taste like candy right off the vine I truly don't know what I would do if I wasn't able to buy them. They weren't being sold at any nurseries in Dallas that I could find, so I ordered them from Hirts. They arrived alive and well packaged. I am super stoked!
