An intermediate day onion, it will produce large, copper-red, globe-shaped onions with pretty red and white rings in most areas of the country. Its snappy, sweet flavor is excellent on sandwiches and hamburgers, in salads and relishes, or in any other recipe calling for sweet red onion. Maturing in about 115 days after planting, Red Amposta Onions are ready to harvest about two weeks after 50% of the tops fall over and dry. Cure them in the sun for a couple of days, then cut foliage off 1" above bulb when ready to use. This packet plants one 40-foot row.
