Product Description

The starter plant you will receive is growing in a 2.5" pot, similar to the second and third photos. The leaf markings will develop as the plant matures. Collector's Series The Birkin Philodendron showcases dark green heart shaped glossy leaves which start off green and gradually develop variegation as leaves grow and the plant matures. This plant likes filtered sunlight for best performance with a well draining potting medium. This no-nonsense, easy-care plant is an indestructible houseplant that filters indoor toxins from the air. ‘Hope’ is a “self-heading” (non-vining) variety of philodendron with an upright growth habit. The large lobed leaves add a tropical flair. Grow in bright indirect light near an east or south window. Water when the top of the soil feels dry.

    This is the third time I have ordered from Hirt’s, and I am always impressed. Shipping was fast. The plant was packed in tape to keep soil still and wrapped in bubble wrap to protect the leaves. It arrived on a 95 degree day, and I was really impressed that the little guy was not impacted at all! I’ve had it for a week or so, and I have 3 baby leaves popping up. Amazing!

    It seems to be doing okay. One of the 3 out of the 4 leaves did break off in shipping, even though it was packed quite well. Will probably repot it after a week. Thanks
