Product Description

Weird and wonderful spiralling foliage, each bulb produces different foliage curl and each amazing. The spectacular leaves are adorned with pendant Galanthus like flowers from late winter into spring. They are tones of green and yellow with a soft, sweet, vanilla fragrance. Albuca 'Frizzle Sizzle' is an absolute conversation piece that will intrigue all who see it, and it grows just like you would any other succulent. Hailing from South Africa, this amazing plant is actually a bulb. Left in the soil they will gradually multiply to form a clump. What makes this clump so exciting is that every bulb produces a different variation of the spiral leaf formation. So the overall effect is very eye catching. The tightest spirals form in hot and dry situations with lots of light. Why do the leaves of Albuca 'Frizzle Sizzle' spiral? Well, it is a clever trick of nature to help the plant survive hot and dry conditions. Plant Albuca 'Frizzle Sizzle' in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. They are suitable for pots, where you should use a succulent or cactus potting mix. Give them plenty of sun. They like similar conditions to Succulents. In cool climates especially, shelter the plant from winter wet. Plant the bulb in a 3-4" pot with at least one hole for drainage with half of the bulb exposed above the soil and the sprout pointing up. Use a cactus and succulent soil. (70% peat, + coir - clay - sand) Water thoroughly, then keep evenly moist, but not too wet or dry. Water once every two weeks. You will receive two bulbs, they are approximately 0.5-1 inch in diameter (6/+cm circumference). No pot or soil included.

The bulbs arrived perfectly packaged, and I planted them the same day. One of the bulbs is already coming up, but I would have liked some planting info about them.

I have plreceived the buanted the bulb I received. The bulb was placed inmy mailbox at 7:42 PM on a day when the outside temperature was 8 degrees. The package was in mailbox for an hour. I am concerned that the bulb was frozen even though a heat pack was in the box. It seemed to be frozen as well. I am hoping for the best. I am sure the seller did all they could to provide a wonderful plant. Who knew we have a polar vortex.

I planted these on 7-13-20. They’ve already developed healthy roots, and have roughly 2” of growth on top. I’m excited to see them mature!
