Product Description

A very striking new Oxalis that we love to use in the miniature garden. This house plant has very colorful eye-catching foliage held on a compact plant. The clover-like leaves are dark purple maroon liberally marked with bright pink splashes. It gets small, yellow flowers bloom above the foliage all year long. Easy to grow. Plum Crazy loves sun and heat, but will also tolerate shade. Gorgeous variegated leaves are set off by the small yellow blooms. It works wonderful in the miniature or fairy garden and is a great choice to mix with succulents. Mature size: 5" tall x 5" wide Oxalis is rich source of vitamin C. All parts of the plant are edible. Leaves have pleasantly sour taste and they are often consumed in the form of salads. Oxalis was very popular among sailors in the past, who consumed leaves of this plant on a regular basis to prevent development of scurvy (disorder induced by deficiency of vitamin C). Starchy tubers are used for the preparation of various soups and sauces. Oxalis can be also consumed in the form of tea.
