Coral Bells are a versatile perennial. This villosa hybrids are known for their tidy mounding habit and excellent heat and humidity tolerance, is a terrific choice for adding a touch of colour towards the front of a border. This selection features huge, bright gold leaves with attractive red veining. White flower sprays appear in late spring to early summer. Protect from hot afternoon sun to prevent leaf scorch. Remove any winter-burned leaves in the spring, otherwise no pruning is required. The flower power alone will conquer the competition. In spring, a gorgeous bouquet of pink flowers tops medium green foliage with deep burgundy veins. The foliage remains attractive through the season as the veins darken and pairs well with pink or white Astilbe. Grows 12-15" tall. PPAF Plant 18" apart.. Heuchera General Information: Heuchera make excellent border plants with their nearly evergreen foliage in neat clumps. Dainty flowers are held aloft on airy stems May through July. These versatile perennials can be used in a shady courtyard pot or perfect under deciduous trees. Prefers average to moist soil conditions. Heuchera Plant Care: Benefits from deadheading. Watch for frost heaving - mulch can help. It keeps the mature crown in contact with the soil and keeps the soil moist in the summer as well. Must have good drainage over the winter, though, so don't over-do the overwintering mulching. Shear off any damaged leaves in early spring to make room for new foliage. Can be divided every 3 years in spring.
