Some plants simply cannot be fully appreciated until you've seen them in person - Paraplu Violet hibiscus is just such a plant. As you can see, its color is beautiful, but seeing it in person is a totally different experience. Its luminous flowers have a super-intense hue that stops people in their tracks, as we have seen multiple times touring visitors around our trial garden when this plant was still under evaluation. Like Paraplu Pink Ink hibiscus, this beauty from Minier Nursery was selected for its extraordinary bloom size and color, as well as its elegant habit.
We keep searching and thus far have found no true red-flowered roses of Sharon, but Paraplu Rouge is the darkest reddish-pink we've ever seen. So whether you call it rouge or horticulture red, this large-flowered single is a standout plant in both our trials and our test garden. Developed by Minier Nurseries in France.
Foliage isn't typically a rose of Sharon's best feature, but the Paraplu Adorned will make you rethink the ornamental potential of this genus entirely. It's a truly unique and eye-catching foliage plant that flushes bright yellow in spring, then in time and as if by magic, splotches of dark green variegation appear in the center of the lobed, maple-like leaves. Large, amethyst-purple flowers bring magic to mid-summer. Developed by Hortival Diffusion of France, and far faster-growing than any other variegated hibiscus.
