Cabbage Seeds - Pak Choi - Joi Choi - Hybrid. Non-GMO. Annual. Brassica rapa Chinensis group. 40-50 days. Cool-warm season. Growers love this hybrid pak choi for its uniformity. It is large, fast growing, vigorous, and has bright green leaves and white petioles. At maturity, the plant is about 18" tall yet can be harvested when plants are still young and small. Recommended for areas where bolting is a problem when growing pak choi. A very adaptable variety that tolerates a wide range of temperatures.
Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in spring after last frost to early summer or late summer/early fall. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Optimum growing temperatures are in the 60s°F. Exposure to frost or prolonged temperatures below 50°F may result in bolting. Mulch fall crops to avoid premature bolting. Can be steamed, stir-fried, and braised. Use in soups, for ohitashi, and pickles.
