Achillea. Delicate, fernlike foliage with flat terminal flower heads. Flowers are long-lasting and excellent for cutting. Plants are drought tolerant and thrive in poor, dry soils. Good for summer color in the mid-border area.
One of the more popular yarrows and perennials is the Achillea Moonshine. Achillea Moonshine proves valuable in the landscape because the foliage and yellow flowers combine beautifully with trees, shrubs, and other perennials. The Moonshine Yarrow's flat-topped, canary yellow flower clusters with soft silver foliage lighten up the garden. This is a clump-forming yarrow selection that blooms over a long period beginning in early summer. Yarrow plants will rebloom if cut back after the first round of flowering.
