Product Description

If Dr. Seuss were a plant breeder, this is what he'd create! You've never seen an elderberry like Strait-Laced™ before: it combines a striking fastigiate habit with lacy, near-black foliage. The effect is something like a flock of birds taking flight. Pink flowers in early summer turn to black fruit if a pollinator (like Black Lace or Black Beauty elderberry) is planted nearby.

    The little elderberry arrived in excellent shape and seems to be doing well in spite of our terribly dry heat wave. I just wish that you also sold a standard black lace elderberry as a companion pollinater: the one I ordered from another company isn't as vigorous as your products nor does it seem to be true to variety.

    All of the plants that I ordered came in excellent condition, however I will say that I’m disappointed that Hirt’s sent them immediately, without paying attention to the fact that I’m in zone 5. Those poor little plants are still sitting in their pots because it’s much too early to put them in the ground here.
