HOT PEPPERS: When Wilbur Scoville first devised a means to test the heat of peppers, his hottest entry then came in at 20,000 units. Habanero and Thai chilies can go as high as 60,000. Compare that to the sweet bell pepper at zero. When hot peppers are consumed, capsaicinoids bind with pain receptors in the mouth and throat that are responsible for sensing heat. Once activated by the capsaicinoids, these receptors send a message to the brain that the person has consumed something hot. The brain responds to the burning sensation by raising the heart rate, increasing perspiration and release of endorphins. Hot peppers should be eaten with caution!

Hard to find...
My dad used to grow these! After he passed away, I found seeds he had kept but never got them to germinate. Not even sure if they were the seeds I was looking for. So... I ordered seeds on line from another site. My daughter in law planted them and peppers actually grew. Just not the Peter peppers! I ordered two of these plants and hoped they would arrive with peppers or at least blooms. Neither. But that's OK. We'll just watch them and see what kind of peppers it produces. If we get Peter peppers, I know my daddy will be sitting in heaven - laughing!

4th of July tomato plant
This is a tale of 2 very different stories. I ordered Peter's Hot Peppers. they came in just fine. Then I ordered Fourth of July tomato plants. they were in long, leggy almost dead. I tried to get Matt to refund my complete order because they weren't worth a penny. He wouldn't refund me unless I sent plants back. It would have cost me almost as much to send it back as plants cost. SHAME on him and his business. Won't recommend and will never buy there again. He is a rip off!
