Product Description

Great as a bonsai, house plant or fairy garden edition. The plant you will receive is similar to the second photo. Knobby bark decorates this world's smallest elm. Pruning tips of branches will help fill out this tree that grows only about an inch or two annually. Naturally congested growth and a stocky trunk give this small tree the appearance of age, a quality valued in miniature landscapes, railroad gardens and bonsai. The plant develops thick, corky bark with age. Site it in full to partial sun with moist, well-drained soil. Don’t over water in winter, and don’t let it dry out or scorch in intense summer sun. Allow to remain cold (below 40F) but above freezing, for winter. Hardy Zones 6-10 Mature Size: 6" height x 5" width Starter plant growing in a 2.5" pot, dormant in winter

    I have so many things in my fairy garden with the dwarf plants and decor so of course I keep adding new sections. These little trees are so beautiful and I love adding them to new spots. I've ordered several of these from Hirts and every time I swear they are prettier. This batch is going to be on a tiny little mountain scene and I can't wait to dig on the right day of the month. These are beautiful!

    My dwarf elm arrived looking almost exactly like the picture. I took a chance and ordered it in the middle of winter. I live on the west coast, and it arrived perfect - part of the shipping cost includes a 72 hour heat pack. I've ordered from Hirt's before, and as before the packing was superb. My plants arrived looking beautiful.
