Product Description

The most striking feature of the Ponytail Palm is the swollen base of the trunk. The texture of the trunk looks and feels scaly like the foot of an elephant and is also known as Elephants Foot. The extraordinary thickening of the trunk serves as a water reservoir against dry spells, allowing the tree to go up to four (4) weeks without water and causing no ill effects. Excellent in low or higher lighting conditions. The Ponytail is an excellent choice for home, office or anywhere. Very easy indoor maintenance.

    I set my old one under a tree a couple years ago in the spring and bugs ate all the new growth! I was very upset because it was my mothers who had passes away. I just cut the top off to see if it will sprout new growth but while I'm waiting I purchased anther that arrive very quickly, packaged well and in EXCELLENT shape. Very happy with my purchase from Hirts. Oh, almost forgot to mention the price, great deal also.
