Easy to Care For In pots, use a high quality potting soil in a 20 inch (or bigger) container. Water daily and fertilize with plant food once a week. When the temperature dips below 50 F, it is best to bring the plant into the house. The plant will not survive freezing temperatures. During the winter months, trim back the plant. Outdoors, the Grand Nain Banana Plant should be planted in rich, well-drained soil.
