DIANTHUS: A wonderful plant found in many heirloom gardens, Dianthus have been a favorite of gardeners for generations. Easy to grow and wonderfully colored, it is no wonder to find them a part of so many gardens. Dianthus Blue Stone', creates a sea of pinkish blue with a mass planting and produces a clove-scented fragrance. Rounded mounds of deep-green, evergreen foliage. Blue Stone will flower in early summer and will rebloom during the fall season. Cheddar Pinks are native to Cheddar Gorge, England and make a great addition to any landscape design. Dianthus Blue Stone needs a sunny site with well-drained soil, but will tolerate some shade in the afternoon along with humidity. Regular watering during prolonged dry spells will be necessary. However, they are tolerant of short periods of dryness. These fragrant, spicy dove-like flowers look wonderful as border plants, in rock gardens, along walks or paths, or as edging.
