Product Description

This Dwarf Hummingbird Mint displays a whole spectrum of warm colors and lets out a sweet-smelling nectar. For a seemingly endless show of color and scent in the sunny garden, look to Kudos ™ Ambrosia. This compact cultivar features more colors than other Hyssops, and blooms earlier in the season. The charming, airy flowerspikes feature creamy coconut, pale orange, and light rose colors, bringing a whole composition of warm, graceful color to the bed, border, or container. The color-changing pastel blooms of this Dwarf Hummingbird Mint will blend seamlessly into your existing garden. And, as if it needed any more advantages, Kudos™ Ambrosia is easier to grow and hardier than almost any other Hyssop! The show begins in spring, when the new foliage emerges a deep shade of bronze. Licorice scented, it is very lush on compact plants. By the end of spring the plants are topped with rosy-purple blooms that attract every honeybee, butterfly, and hummingbird in the neighborhood. Deer, slugs, and other nibblers leave this aromatic plant alone, and the blooms continue all the way into autumn. Adaptable to dry soil, Kudos™ Ambrosia craves only sunshine and good soil drainage to thrive for many years. With very little attention, this Hyssop will swiftly reach its full height of 17 inches tall (20 when flowering) and 16 inches wide, and it will provide its kaleidoscopic color-show of blooms year after year. Try it in the sunny border or along the driveway among Kniphofia and Sedum. A thoroughly delightful perennial you will treasure for seasons to come! Zones 5-10.

  • Hardy in zones 5-9
