An evergreen with greenish-pink stems ending in oblong, wavy-edged leaves, Pellionia houseplants are native to Southeast Asia, specifically Vietnam, Malaysia and Burma. Pellionia is usually utilized in hanging baskets but also works well in terrariums. This herbaceous perennial hails from the family Urticaceae and has a low growing (3 to 6 inches) habit with spreading or creeping tendencies (1 to 2 feet), making Pellionia useful as a ground cover in appropriate climates.
