The Peanut Cactus (Echinopsis Chamaeceereus) is native to Argentina. It is a very easy house plant to grow! This well-known cactus is composed of clusters of initially erect, finger-sized stems that are pale green with numerous soft, white bristles. Established plants can reach a height of 6 in (15 cm) and a width of 12 in (30 cm), with many crowded stems. From an early age, it flowers freely indoors if conditions suit it, producing vivid orange-red blooms about 2 in (5 cm) in diameter in spring and summer. Also makes an unusual bonsai! Prefers full sun and water when dry.
