Sunflowers are also great for kids. The seeds are big and easy to handle, and they require minimal attention. Kids like to grow big things, so a sunflower fits the bill. I was late ordering these last year, and it did not go well. But that was my fault. I am trying them again this summer, was drawn to them for the deep burgundy color and the branching habit because I want to use them as a screen. I am optimistic.
