Product Description

The first image is a mature plant. The second image is representative of what you will receive in a 4" pot. Considered by Ernest "China" Wilson, who introduced it into cultivation in 1910, to be one of the most beautiful of all bamboos. With a soft, cascading canopy of lustrous evergreen foliage, we do not consider this long standing impression to be out dated. The new shoots are light blue with tan culm sheaths, aging to a yellowish-green. It looks best when planted in an area that gets afternoon shade or dappled sunlight throughout the day. Like all other Fargesias, it does not have running rhizomes and needs no containment to prevent spread. It looks best when planted in an area that gets afternoon shade or dappled sunlight throughout the day. It will retain its pastel green foliage throughout the winter, though it usually sheds a few leaves in late fall. A beautiful and very hardy Fargesia with new culms that have attractive rusty reddish sheaths and a clumping root system. This new introduction is proving to be one of the most hardy and versatile clumping bamboo in the landscape.

There are a lot of plants in the pot, and are very healthy. Can't wait to see it getting that lovely red color.

I received the little rufa bamboo in great condition. It is a small cute plant right now. Can't wait to see it evolve into the height of the one like in the photo. Thank you.

I'm excited about it. I also see a species of bambo pictured that is distinctively different in the photos that resembles a lucky bamboo variety.
