Product Description

Convallaria majalis 'Bordeaux'. 15% bigger blooms! The beloved Lily-of-the-Valley, herald of spring in many gardens, just got a much-needed improvement. Bordeaux has larger flowers and far more of them. Instead of arising among the foliage, where their impact is often overlooked, they are held above the leaves. And the foliage itself is darker green and larger than older varieties. All in all, you can't go wrong with this new and improved variety! The merry white bells are 15% larger than previous varieties', and they are borne far more profusely. Even if they weren't any bigger or more numerous, though, you'd notice them more because they are held above the leaves instead of hiding among them. And this plant is just as easy to grow than older varieties. It reaches 6 to 8 inches high and spreads 12 to 15 inches wide. Evergreen, it offers fragrant blooms that are ideal for cutting as well as garden enjoyment. And all it asks is an annual feeding of compost or other enriched material in the fall! Space plants about a foot apart for good dense coverage in any fully to partly shaded spot. Zones 2-7.
  • Zones 2-8
  • Mature Height: 6-8 inches
  • Prefers shade or part-shade
  • Spring blooming huge blooms
  • Immediate shipping, 10 bare root pips (roots)

GIANT BORDEAUX LILY OF THE VALLEY 10 PIPS (ROOTS) - CONVALLARIA

Posted by Kenneth San on Apr 16th 2021

The roots were in a paper bag alongside my other order but were perfectly healthy when it arrived. They didn't have any rich green on them though, but are now just starting to change color after I potted them up.
