Product Description

The Miracle Plant that is taking over the world. Spekboom (Portulacaria) is an easy to grow succulent plant that does best in full sun or bright, indirect light. It only needs watering when dry. It is the most efficient plant at removing harmful Carbon Dioxide from the air. It is recommended that one plant be placed in each room. Light green leaves, variegation will vary with each plant and does develop further as the plant matures. This very unusual and colorful plant is a slower growing succulent with variegated leaves and dark stems. It is an excellent house plant for a sunny window. It is native to Africa and likes to go dry between waterings. It is also excellent for bonsai! It has a pale pink flower. The fleshy trunk, branches and leaves are able to store water for a long period of time which makes it particularly well suited for offices, dormitory rooms, or anyone not wanting to be a slave to their plants.

    I was curious to see if this one would make it here well because of the texture of the plant itself but Hirts didn't disappoint! Careful packaging and USPS Priority Mail helped, I'm sure. The plant looks great, ready to work removing CO2 in our home and making a statement! It's so cute!

    Each time I look at my beautiful new “creme and green”, which I do often, I am surprised anew at its contrasting bigness and littleness. Beautifully shaped, right out of the box it was display ready after a thorough soaking! A seemingly mature tree, yet a little one, and I can continue to shape it as I choose as time goes on. A picture of strength but delicate in its numerous branches, tiny leaves, and gentle variegation. As this plant draws me into its miniature world, it also, uniquely, seems to downsize life’s problems! What more could you ask of a 4-inch pot plant ordered sight unseen!
