Our native "Chocolate Imperial Lily" is found on the west coast of B.C. in meadows that go dry in the summer. Deep purple, almost chocolate black-colored bell shaped flowers held on silvery green, wiry stalks bloom in early spring. Rare in cultivation. Common Name: Chocolate Checkered Lily.
