Product Description

The American Cranberry, Vaccinium macrocarpon, is native to the United States. The fruits of the plant have been consumed for many years by Americans due to its unique flavor and high vitamin content. Most of us think of the lowbush cranberry as being a plant just for bogs, but they have been grown in upland soil and prospering for years. The plants reach a mature height of 8" - 10", spreading outward to form a thick mat of vines and delicate leaves. Zones 4-8. Prefers sun. Shipped dormant in the winter.

    The Cranberries and the Thimble berries arrived in great condition. They are in my garden window waiting for planting as we have 3' of snow that has yet to melt. Thank you and I hope they grow for me in Athol, ID. If they do I will be ordering more next near.

    The plants were well packed and arrived unharmed. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was the size. If they offered larger plants I would have ordered them. A somewhat hard to find plant.

    I had ordered strawberry plants from other sources over the years. I saw Hirt's online and decided to give them a try. The plants arrived on time. I am very impressed by how fresh the plants were. It has been a couple days, and the plant has 12 inch branches already!
