Foxtail lilies are best grown in the dry border where they get the good drainage they need to flourish. It is thrilling to watch the immense crown break through the soil in early spring eventually producing a towering plume of canary-yellow flowers with orange filiments. The blade-like foliage that forms at the base of the stem is gray green. They do best in full sun.
