Gift wrapping Options available
Kalanchoe tomentosa cv. 'Super Fuzzy' forms a rosette of leaves with long fair hairs that grow from all sides of its leaves and stem, and which are longer than those of its parent plant and gives it a more fuzzy appearance. It can grow up to 45cm (1.5 feet) tall. The hairy covering is a water conservation adaptation - it slows the movement of air over the surface of the leaves, reducing water vapour loss in transpiration. The whiteish colour reflects light, reduces the chances of overheating. In its native habitat, Panda Plant produces fuzzy, bell-shaped flowers in spring and summer. Decorative year-round, it makes a beautiful addition to a succulent dish garden. Like other succulent types, it stores water so it rarely needs watering. Water carefully. Avoid getting the furry leaves of this plant wet because they'll easily rot. Water from the bottom or water the potting mix. If the leaves need to be cleaned, brush them gently with a soft, dry brush, such as a small paintbrush.
And like other types of succulents, Kalanchoe tomentosa is tolerant of dry air. It makes a good house plant for heated homes. Just give it plenty of light and it'll thrive for many years.
