We put together this special mix of mild alfalfa and red clover, with just enough zingy Daikon radish to add lively flavor and crunch to your sandwiches, but don't stop there; try these sprouts in scrambled eggs or omelets, on salads, and stir-fried with other vegetables - the culinary possibilities are limited only by your imagination!
Anyone who has purchased sprouts at the grocery store knows that quality can vary greatly. Depending on shipping and delivery time, those sprouts may be far from fresh, and their nutritive value quite diminished. For pennies a day, you can have the freshest, most nutrition-packed sprouts possible by growing your own at home. Our certified organic, untreated, high-germination sprouting seed will assure your success. Sprouts are high in protein, essential amino acids, digestive enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and (when exposed to light) chlorophyll.
Sprouts are easy to grow in any climate, year round! There are several ways to grow sprouts the most popular, easiest, and least expensive is the jar method. All you need is a glass canning jar (quart or larger) and a lid either a special sprouting lid or simply a piece of muslin, cheesecloth, or nylon screen secured with a rubber band. Sprouting technique is easy to perfect if four factors are kept in mind: adequate moisture, correct temperature, air circulation, and minimal light. Expanded instructions inside this packet.
NOTE: If not properly disinfected, all seeds have the possibility of carrying E coli bacteria. Please disinfect the seed prior to sprouting by soaking in a 2% bleach solution (1 tsp. bleach to 1 cup hot tap water) for 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
