Product Description

Olympiad Hybrid Tea Rose (Var; MACauck) Exquisite blooms of pure red with all the qualities of a great exhibition rose and prolific enough so that it can be depended upon for cutting all season long. The plants are tall, long stemmed and covered with fairly light green, heavily toothed foliage that is probably the most mildew resistant in its class. Sam McGredy had a strong belief that roses should be fragrant. Alas, this one has little fragrance, but it didn't stop it from being the best selling red rose for most of the last 20 years. Flower Size: 4-6". Fragrance: Slight. Hybridizer: McGredy, 1984. Hardy Zones 6-10 Mature Size: 3-5' tall x 2' wide
  • Slight fragrance
  • Full Sun
  • Summer Blooming
  • Hardy in zones 6-10
  • The starter rose you will receive is growing in a 4" pot. Shipped dormant in the winter.

    Healthy Little Rose

Potted because of its size, I will plant out next year. Certainly very healthy. It is already pushing a bloom.

    My First Red Rose

Posted by Terry Wynn on Sep 10th 2021

Had trouble getting a red rose I like. This was my choice. It is a vigorous young growth. In its own pot outside to be wintered in the garage awaiting Spring. Very healthy, already has some new growth. Thanks so much.
