Product Description

This is the first generation of our Everbearing Black Raspberry, and will revolutionize the popularity of Black Raspberries by tripling the length of the harvest season. Another bonus, this variety can be mechanically pruned to 6 inches in height, eliminating detailed hand-pruning. The berries have a pleasant flavor with good balance of sweetness and freshness. The fruits are considered medium in size and average 2.1 grams per berry and are comparable to other leading cultivars such as Jewel with 2.5 grams per berry. The fruit quality is acceptable for u-pick farms, local farm markets, and gardeners. The plants have high vigor producing two crops per year. In most parts of the U.S., the plants can be mowed to the ground after the foliage naturally falls. The stems regrow in the spring and begin yielding fruits in the middle of August and will continue to produce fruits until the middle of October. In the canes are left to overwinter, they will produce a late spring crop at the same ripening time as Jewell. Ohio's Treasure will yield 1.5 to 2 pounds of late spring or early summer fruit every year. The yields are consistent with other major cultivars such as Bristol and Jewell. However, if both summer and falls crops are harvested, yields will be more than 3 pounds per plant per year. Other advantages with the Ohio's Treasure; its fall-bearing canes will escape spring frosts and winter injury, thus escaping diseases associated with winter damage. The plants are cold tolerant to USDA Hardiness Zones 3-8.
  • Richly flavored berries not once, but multiple times a season
  • Berries are firm and delicious
  • Best in zones 3-8
  • Upright, self supporting and lightly thorny canes
  • Immediate shipping

very happy with them however I thought I was getting thornless but that was my mistake when I ordered them. I'm sure they will be wonderful when they grow up. Doing very well in their new home.
