    Zone 10b - We'll see...

Posted by Milly on Nov 17th 2020

Ordered Guacamole Hosta in September 2020 and planted in ground immediately. The plant had excellent roots, was taped up and bubble wrapped. There were only a couple of leaves that were smushed, leaving about 5 hand-sized leaves. It is a beautiful plant and has survived some high 80-90 degree temps this fall while experiencing some noon sun (it's planted directly to the North of a fence otherwise.) It's only just starting to die down in mid-November due to our unseasonably warm temps. I only hope that we have enough chill hours this year so that I can enjoy this gorgeous plant in the Spring since 10b is considered out of range. I originally ordered this and the Francee Hosta through Walmart, but subsequently discovered that more products are offered, pricing is equal and shipping is better directly through the Hirts.com website. I already have my second order and look forward to giving a review when my next set of new plants break dormancy.

    Good and Hardy

This is one I highly recommend. It stands up under the most extreme conditions of weather. Beautiful contrast to my other hostas, as well.
