Product Description

COREOPSIS: Superb in the border – reliable, long blooming flowers are produced from early summer into the fall. Just give them some sun and enjoy the show. Coreopsis naturalize with ease and will attract lots of butterflies and birds to your garden. Cold tolerant, floriferous and easy to grow. Coreopsis ‘Gilded Lace’ truly impressed us with its floriferous and long-lasting floral display. It was also a great boon to pollinators who were frequently observed visiting this plant. This cultivar was discovered as a chance seedling in the garden of Peter Heus and is likely a hybrid between Coreopsis tripteris and Coreopsis verticillata. ‘Gilded Lace’ is unique for its lacy, fine-textured foliage- something rarely seen on a plant this size. The only minor complaint about ‘Gilded Lace’ is the tendency for its stems to lean, usually by no more than 30 or 40 degrees, but this is easily overlooked with such an amazing floral display. Large and sturdy neighbor plantings would likely make the leaning a nonissue altogether. ‘Gilded Lace’ is a rhizomatous coreopsis that spreads about 2’ over three years." -- Mt. Cuba Center
